Our thug government is outdoing itself in illegalities these days. Obama and his creatures have been trampling on the constitution ever since he took office. This is not his first violation of the 1st amendment but it is, so far, the most egregious. CNS is reporting that priests, who work under contract for the military, cannot celebrate Mass even as volunteers on any military base or property:
Obama is doing everything he can to provoke confrontation so that he can arrest, harass, and otherwise force the Church to bend to his will in paying for contraception and abortion. More than that, however, he wants to neuter religion in order to prevent it from using its considerable prestige to thwart his drive to neuter and transform the US into another 3rd world banana republic. He has done a great deal of harm but if he is fool enough to take on the Catholic Church he will learn better, just as Stalin did.
Some Catholic priests under contract or GS (general schedule) to the military are not allowed to offer the Catholic sacraments--including saying Mass, consecrating marriages, or performing baptisms--on military property during the government shutdown, and if they do, even on a volunteer basis, they risk being arrested, according to the general counsel for the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA ...
“During the shutdown, it is illegal for them to minister on base and they risk being arrested if they attempt to do so,” said Schlageter. ... If you are stationed in Japan or Korea and served by a GS or contract priest, “then you have no choice but to go without Mass this weekend.” ... “At a time when the military is considering alternative sources of funding for sporting events at the service academies, no one seems to be looking for funding to ensure the Free Exercise rights of Catholics in uniform,” said Schlageter. “Why not?”
