I have disabled the shoutbox for now because I want to take our conversations to the threads so that visitors at least can see how cool we are, even if they cannot participate.
I will be making other changes with your input. Do we want to jazz up our look? Do we want to reduce the number of "religious" boards and either expand or keep the general interest topics? Please let me know, if you have an opinion about these things and any others.

I think we should do away any "boards" that do not have any new posts for 2 months and for every 2 removed we add a new one (1).
In other words if someone has a "Board" they want to stay, they need to get posting on it.

Excellent idea! I was thinking along the same lines that there is no need to keep topics that don't interest anyone.

Yes I think so. We can always add more religious boards later if there is a demand. We could probably completely do away with the section of scripture and just have those discussions under their respective religions. We could probably do away with all the religion boards aside from Christianity and Islam and create one board that is more generic for any sort of religious topics. If there becomes a demand for others then we can cross that bridge then. The news section could be condensed too I think. I would also move religion to the top.

I think I am having shoutbox withdrawal symptoms. I liked being able to say just one quick thing and then out but I think we have done the right thing.
It is amazing how much I have forgotten about how to tweak features of the forum so I am playing in the test forum before I do anything here. What we want to do is fairly major so I don't want to make mistakes. I also need a slow weekend to get it done! So hang in there.

I think the solution would be, to have a blog thread for each member, every time We want to say something quick and random topic, We can post it there

Perhaps just starting a Member to Member subforum. A thread could be called "The no topic Thread" and used sort of like a chat except it would be visible to non-Members.

Hey! I like both your ideas! I will add that to the list of things to do.

Might want to start a "No topic" Thread in the anything goes section and see if it sparks any curiosity
