That really does look like a hand, doesn't it. I used to visit the NASA site frequently. The pictures are (or were-- I assume it is still in business) spectacular.

That really does look like a hand, doesn't it. I used to visit the NASA site frequently. The pictures are (or were-- I assume it is still in business) spectacular. The NASA site still has a fantastic photograph library. Lots of amazing pictures. Their link is HEREIn my younger years when I was very active in Amateur Astronomy I was quite fascinated by DSO's (Deep Space Objects) especially the Messier Objects (Nebulae etc) I find the current photographs to be unbelievable. Quite a lot of photographic advances over the past 50 years. My favorite object has always been M-31 (Andromeda) fantastic viewing even with low power binoculars. Today's photos are mind boggling. 2,000,000 light year distance from us. to put it in perspective the sun is 8 light minutes away from us. One light year is about 3,000,000,000,000 miles, Andromeda is the closest Galaxy to use. (Besides the Galaxy our solar system is in) Gives some idea as to how big the universe is.
