Fox news is reporting on the plight of Christians in SudanSudan has always been (in my lifetime, at least) hostile to Christians. It is a country in which slavery still flourishes with Christians being the chief victims of that trade. Charitable groups have gone so far as to purchase them individually in order to free them. Of course, they have been roundly criticized for doing so because they collude with the enslavers by making it profitable for them. Or so the criticism goes.
We Westerners should thank God we have been spared these horrors. It seems like we might want to remember to pray for our brothers and sisters who undergo persecution every single day. For that matter, we might want to pray for all who are oppressed, lack food, medical care and all those wonderful things that make our lives so much easier than theirs.
