The developers pushed out a bunch of code changes this week. Among them was one so annoying that I cannot believe they did it. Now, instead of an annoying captcha, you are expected to sit through an annoying video ad that will eventually display the captcha. I did discover that you can click the refresh arrow (that normally gives you a new captcha that you can hopefully read when you can't read the first one that pops up) until you get a still advertisement instead of a video.
I have expressed my opinion about this to the developers in very strong terms. I am not sure anyone else is going to like this either and I hope it goes away soon. For now, the only thing we can do is keep refreshing until we get a non video ad.

I suspect that there will be enough complaints from site owners that the developers will get the hint that new verification thing is a mess and will drive people away from Pro-boards. In the mean time, I wish to congratulate those who had the fortitude and tenacity to make it through the obstacle course and become a Member. The old Barry Sadler "Ballad of the Green Berets" is going through my head now. "One Hundred will test today, but only 4 will win the Green Beret."

I was wrong about this happening this week. It happened a month? or 6 weeks ago with the last software upgrade (which is still new enough that some people are still having trouble upgrading their forums). I will have to check to see if anyone agreed with me. I sure couldn't find anything in the archives to suggest that people were unhappy! (:
